EarthWorks Expo Announces New Dates, New Partnership

DENVER—March 18, 2009--The date for EarthWorks Expo 2009 (www.earthworks2009.com), Denver’s most informative and empowering green-living event of the year, has been changed to Aug. 22-23 – one week earlier than previously announced.

“We learned that several other Denver-area events had moved to our previous date at the end of August,” said EarthWorks Expo Director Michael Lindemann. “Therefore, to avoid a schedule conflict, particularly with the Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES) annual conference, we have moved our event to the weekend of Aug. 22-23 at the Denver Merchandise Mart. We’re confident that this is better for everyone concerned.”

Now in its third year, EarthWorks Expo 2009 will feature up to 200 green exhibitors representing a “Who’s Who” of Colorado-based solution providers in renewable energy, green building, green transportation, resource conservation and Earth-friendly products and services. Other features will include 35 hands-on workshops, dynamic keynote speakers, enhanced programs for children, and even lower admission prices than in 2008. Parking is always free and the Merchandise Mart is served by several bus lines. Attendance is expected to top 5,000 for the two-day event. “As in years past, EarthWorks Expo is committed to being a zero-waste, carbon-neutral event,” Lindemann says.

EarthWorks Expo Announces Partnership with Paradigm Nouveau Enterprises

EarthWorks Expo also announced a new partnership with Paradigm Nouveau Enterprises, a Boulder-based organization dedicated to meeting the challenges of climate change and to using the best of arts and sciences, business and humanitarian efforts for the stewardship of planet Earth and the well-being of all its diverse inhabitants.

"This partnership greatly strengthens our ability to create Denver’s most inspiring, informative and empowering green-living event of the year," explains Lindemann. "We are proud to welcome Paradigm Nouveau as a key partner in producing EarthWorks Expo in 2009 and beyond."

Audrey James, Founder and CEO of Paradigm Nouveau Enterprises, has a 25-year background in transformational education and humanitarian efforts. Other key members of the Paradigm Nouveau team include Rick Levine, Chief Operating Officer, and Sarah Larrabee, Director of Environmental Projects.

Paradigm Nouveau produces public events showcasing grassroots efforts to meet climate change. Its flagship gathering in Boulder is the Global Warming Expo. Launched in April 2007 at the Boulder Theatre and repeated by popular demand in 2008, the Global Warming Expo blends entertainment, art, science, business and politics, creating a community opportunity for individuals to meet and respond to global warming with inspiration and personal power.

Paradigm Nouveau is also an active member of the influential Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). Launched in 2005 by President Clinton as a non-partisan catalyst for action, CGI’s approximately 1,000 members make formal commitments to address one or more key focus areas of Education, Energy and Climate Change, Global Health and Poverty Alleviation.

Paradigm Nouveau and EarthWorks Expo share the view that achieving true and lasting sustainability entails, among other things:
  • forging partnerships with key stakeholders in government, business, academia, religious institutions and the non-profit sector;
  • a healthy, stable and just economy;
  • carbon neutrality;
  • ensuring clean supplies of fresh water and ample local food production;
  • zero waste; and
  • reinventing community, fostering deep connections with one another and the planet.

Sponsors for EarthWorks Expo 2009 include Xcel Energy, the Denver Newspaper Agency, 99.5 The Mountain, ReDirect Guide, Natural Awakenings magazine, Anderson & Associates Public Relations, Inc., Independent Power Systems, SolaRover, KUNC Radio, Livewire Urban Radio and Waste-Not Recycling.
